Year in Review

Dare I say this may just be the longest post in the history of blogging! It will act as more of a year in review for the Pieper family! With multiple computer deaths in the family getting pictures off the camera and onto a blog has been nothing short of rocket science. BUT we are here and here it goes! August has just arrived and we are trying to get in as many park days, walks, bbq's and summer activities as possible. Here is Charlie enjoying one of the slides at the park near our house, and hanging with Papa at the lake up North. Note the matching polos.

July was full of fun activities including the fourth on Gull Lake with extended family, a visit from Charlie's great grandmother on Brads moms side, a dinner out with my new UST classmates, and as pictured above a golf tournament with old friends ( Claire and Meghan Owens, and Ally Graham Johnson) benefiting Heart Disease " GO RED!" One of the highlights of the summer happened when my wonderful husband got all of my family and friends up to the resort for a surprise birthday weekend! I had the opportunity to ring in my 30th year with near and dear friends from all stages of life at the resort. So blessed! To cap the month off we spent some time with lake friends at Maddens. Here Charlie is serenading his friend Maddie ( a fourth generation guest)...yes he is playing the ping pong paddle like a guitar and singing her name in a horrible key. Now for June, you ready?! We kicked the month off with a trip to Denver to see my God mother retire and my cousin graduate from DU which of course allowed me to catch up with old college roomies and meet one of my old besties Emily Cooper Sutterers new baby Cooper. The second weekend I was able to head to Chicago and meet up with all my old girlfriends from Kellogg sans kiddos ( moms, you know this was a much appreciated weekend not that I don't love my little man.) The third weekend we hosted a group up at the resort, and then off to Alaska the following week! We went to attend a wedding reception for Paul Gonzalez and his lovely bride ( brad's old bud from West Point), which of course allowed us to do some site seeing in the process. We visited Denali Wilderness Park before heading to the celebration on Nancy Lake. However the two days that we were there the wilderness in Denali decided to not be so wild. The very kind and knowledgeable guide we had on the mountain thanked us for sharing the worst wilderness spotting day of the year with him. As you can tell from our photos we only saw a ground squirrel ( the setting wasn't half bad) and a caribou. Fun and beautiful none the less.

Let's just say May was slow. I think Charlie thought so too as this was the only photo I could find of him from May :) I think we were all just ready for summer.

April marked our 82nd year in business at the resort. Above is the bag piper opening the golf courses for the year!
March marked my darling nephew/ godsons second birthday. Is it just me or does he look like he's ready to head off to college in the fall?! In addition the month was filled with B school interviews, a best friends 30th b day ( Claire that's you) and a great weekend with my husband where we had the opportunity to renew our vows.

February was full of grad school aps, and work. Because there are no interesting photos linked to either of those activities I chose a post bathtub shot of Charlie instead ( it was taken in Feb...so that counts!)

January marked one whole year down for Charlie Pieper. He had a great birthday at the Children's Museum in Saint Paul where lots of family and friends joined in celebrating him. As you can see he LOVED the privileges that come along with being the birthday boy!

And for the last photos of our year in review we have pics from 2010, but that takes us to where we left off which was Thanksgiving! We spent Christmas at the Piepers house and had a wonderful time. It was fun waking up to Santa and experiencing our first Christmas as a family of three in our little house. We also spend a little time in Florida, hence the pool shot. Whew....if you made it this far congratulations and thank you for reading this. Hopefully the next post won't be in 2012 :)
